Bill O’Brien and the team at O’Brien Line Doolin Ferries have launched a Facebook page and to celebrate they are making this 10% discount coupon available to those that “like” (Do it below) their Facebook page. Ferry travel from Doolin is already great value and I’m sure that in these difficult times you’ll appreciate the extra saving. O’Brien Line operate the largest ferry in Doolin and visit all 3 Aran Islands daily. The “Tranquility” also does a daily sightseeing trip to the Cliffs of Moher.
Aer Arann Islands not only offer a regular service to the Aran Islands but also now have scenic flights of Commemara, The Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands..
Take off from Connemara Airport from only €50
Take off from Connemara Airport and fly south-east to the Co Clare coast, along the Cliffs Of Moher for the best possible views, then north-west along Galway Bay to see the three Aran Islands including views of Dun Aengus Fort on Inis Mórbefore returning to Connemara Airport. The cost is €50per seat. They also offer private scenic flights.
I took a nice trip out to Inis Mór with Aer Arann Islands last Saturday as was impressed with the service available. They operate a fleet of 8 seater planes and the trip was comfortable and only takes 7 or 8 minutes. It’s excellent value if you don’t like ferries or you’re short on time. The return fare is €45
I hope to enjoy the scenic flight in the next few weeks and will report back.
Many thanks to Grainne and all the helpful staff for my trip last weekend.

We are pleased to see that a price war is in full swing at Doolin pier in Co.Clare. Visitors should haggle. There are now 4 offices on Doolin Pier , all with similar names. Aran2Doolin, Inishmor Direct, Doolin Ferries and Aran Island Fast Ferry. All offer trips to the Aran Islands or the Clliffs of Moher.
Intending travellers should avoid stopping on-line or at a ticket office situated before the pier as you will pay full price here. Continue on to the pier and do haggle. Whichever of the offices you visit first, do not accept the price , say you’ll shop around and I guarantee they will drop the price. Take your time and make an informed decision.
Aran2Doolin ferries seem to operate 2 newer boats, The “Jack B” and the “Doolin Discovery”
Doolin Ferries seem to operate steel ferries. the “Tranquility” ,”Rose of Aran” and “Happy Hooker”
Inishmor Direct have an old steel ferry the “Dun Aengus”
We are awaiting news on the name of the ferry operated by Aran Island Fast Ferry.
