Green Dragon is lying in second place in the 6th leg of the Volvo Ocean Race with the Limerick owned boat Delta Lloyd in 3rd. This leg from Rio to Boston should take about 3 weeks. Then the fun starts with the race from Boston past the Aran Islands to Galway.

Volvo Ocean Race to Move from Galway to Kilrush
News was leaked today that a back-up plan is in place to relocate the Irish stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race. Some suggest that Galway is no longer the favoured location of the Irish Tourist board and that a move to Kilrush on the Shannon estuary is now on the cards.
Certainly Kilrush is the home port of Limerick sailor Ger o Rourke owner of Delta Lloyd and a stopover in his home port would be welcomed.
