My weekend visit to Inishmore really did take a strange twist.
Apart from meeting up with the usual suspects and having a great craic on Fri and Saturday nights I met a Guy from Limerick who must have the best value in wine that I ever heard of.
A true gentleman is Joe Crowley and we spent the ferry journey back to Rossaveal having a great chat. Joe, it turns out is a regular visitor to the Islands where he has a few customers. He travels to France and buys wine direct from the vineyards which he then sells for what must be minimum profit to his customers all over Ireland and abroad. From 1 bottle to a case to a pallet. I ended up buying a mixed case of 12 bottles which sorts out most of Christmas for my house.
