Ferries to the Aran Islands from Doolin in Co.Clare have now finished until March 2012.
Ferry services from the Pier in Doolin are seasonal and have now finished for this year. All ferries will operate from April 1st 2012. The larger ferries of O’Brien Line will start in March.
So if you need to travel to the Aran Islands between now and then you will need to go by ferry from Rossaveal in Connemara or by Air from Connemara Airport.
Aer Arann Islands
Aer Arann Islands’s airport is located at Connemara Regional Airport in the town of Inverin, just 19 miles west of Galway city. The scenic drive along the coast road (R336) features breathtaking views of Galway Bay, and brings you through the Irish speaking Gaeltacht.
Additionally, there is a shuttle service which departs from Galway city. Our meeting point is at Kinlay House Hostel on Merchants Road which is just off Eyre Sqare. This sevice is operated by both Aer Arann Islands and Owen Linnane buses. They park across the road from Kinlay House and the driver will meet you at Kinlay House meeting point to advise you of bus location. Visitors are advised to reserve their seats on the minibus when reserving their flights.

Island Ferries operate large comfortable ferries from Rossaveal.
Island Ferries also offer a shuttle bus to and from Galway City center.
