The following is an excerpt from an email received today. Anyone that can answer the question please comment on this post. Thanks.
“Dear Sir or Madame
I was wondering if you had any information on who carved the altar of the Church on Inishmaan. I have been told that my grandfather John Burke who was a stonemason worked on the altar. Perhaps you can advise as to whether any records exist that reflect that information.
Thanks very much for your time and any help you may be able to provide.
Regards
Emily Burke”
Many Happy wishes for the Christmas to all our friends on the Aran Islands and the followers of this blog throughout the world. Look forward to some great improvements in 2009. Green Dragon finished the 3 leg of the Volvo race in 6th.
Our virtual entry Aran Isalands Winner went aground and lost loads of places. Now lying in about 30,000th. Report to come soon on the other Irish entries from Galway and The Aran Islands.
The following is a quote from an email I received today. “It was at the drop off point for walking to Dun Aengus. This shop was across from the eating establishment. It was small and on end of the other building. The woman working in there had T-shirts designed by her son that were very plain (black figures on Cream colored T-shirts) with old Celtic characters.
Thanks for any help with the name.” Can anyone help to Identify the shop or the vendor?

Hope you all liked my Pogues video in my last post. Well the 3rd leg of the Volvo ocean Race is under way and “Aran Isalands Winner” sponsored by Aran Islands Information is lying in about 6000th in the Virtual race. Can’t find any of the other Aran Islands Boats yet but it’s only day 1.
Great news that the missing trawler has been found and is now safely berthed in Rossaveal.
More soon.
