Aran Ferry Information and Links
It is possible to travel to Inishmore, (Inis Mor) Inisheer (Inis Oirr) or Inishmaan (Inis Meain) by Passenger Ferry from Doolin in Co. Clare (Seasonal) or Rossaveal in Co. Galway (All Year). Sailings from Doolin can be influenced by tides. Aran Ferry services from Rossaveal are not subject to tidal issues.
There are no direct ferries from Galway city at this time.
Car Ferries are not available to the Aran Islands.
Travel time to Inis Mor from Rossaveal is 40 minutes and from
Doolin is about 90 minutes.
Doolin to Inis Oirr (Inisheer) is only about 25 minutes.
Car parking is available at Rossaveal and Doolin.
A shuttle bus to and from Rossaveal is available from Galway city.
Flights to the Islands are available from Aer Arann Islands at Inverin
Ferries from Doolin. Co. Clare
Aran Islands Ferry services from Doolin in County Clare operate from April 1st to Oct 31st. Due to tides there are about 2 hours daily when the pier cannot be used. So do check departure times with the companies as the information on their websites is not always accurate and is subject to change. Do not buy tickets in any of the many offices around Doolin village or on the way to the pier. Go to the pier where you will get the best value.

Another company called Doolin2Aran ferries operate 2 boats called the "Jack B" and "Doolin Discovery" to the Aran Islands and also offer trips to the nearby Cliffs of Moher.

Ferries from Rossaveal, Co. Galway.
Most Aran Island Ferries operate from Rossaveal across Galway Bay. Inis Mor is the busiest ferry destination by far. Advance booking is not usually neccessary but is advisable in July and August. Ferries begin departures daily at 8.30 am and there are regular departures on large comfortable ferries. Summer Departures to Inishmore are at 10.30am, Ipm and 6.30pm.
